Our centre is anchored by Dr Dede Selamat Sutedja . Prior to establishing his private practice at Gleneagles Hospital, Dr Dede as he’s fondly called , was a Senior Consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore .
Educated in Singapore from elementary school , Dr Dede obtained his basic medical degree (MBBS) in 1989 from the National University of Singapore. He obtained the membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK (MRCP )in 1993 and later became a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 1999( FAMS Gastroenterology ) . Dr Dede also received the Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Physicians Glasgow,UK (FRCP) in 2004 .Dr Dede was awarded a scholarship attachment at the liver unit of the University Hospital Birmingham ,UK in 2000, specialising in liver diseases and liver transplantation . He was also awarded a fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy at the Amsterdam Medical Centre, Holland in 2001, where he was trained in therapeutic and complex endoscopic procedures .
Dr Dede has clinical interest and experience ranging from therapeutic endoscopy( including ERCP) , liver diseases such as hepatitis B/C and liver transplantation. His research also encompasses non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, better known as fatty liver . Besides academic and clinical achievements , Dr Dede is known for his emphatic and personalized care for his patients . Dr Dede had received a number of Excellent Service Awards (EXSA) , which is a national award that recognises individuals who have delivered outstanding service.
