Dr Wendy Liew Kein Meng is a Paediatrician and Paediatric Neurologist at Healthway Medical Group. Her areas of expertise include paediatric neurological diseases, especially neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis, spinal muscular atrophy and Duchnne muscular dystrophy.
Dr Wendy Liew graduated from University of Glasgow and then joined Singhealth for her Paediatrics training. Upon completion of her Paediatrics training, she was awarded the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Award to pursue specialist training in Paediatric Neuromuscular Disease at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. After her training, Dr Wendy Liew worked as a Consultant in the Neurology Service, Department of Paediatrics at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and was appointed as Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School prior to joining Healthway Medical Group.
Dr Wendy Liew is an expert in the area of paediatric neuromuscular disorders and has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in international journals. She has presented at various local and international meetings and was awarded the Young Investigator Award at the Asian-Oceanian Myology Centre Annual Scientific Meeting in Thailand in 2015. She is also the recipient of the National Medical Research Council’s New Investigator Grant to study the utility of noninvasivebiomarkers such as MRI of the muscle and genomic sequencing in management of paediatric patients with neuromuscular disorders.
