Breast and Oncoplastic Surgery
Dr Radhika Lakshmanan is a general surgeon with more than 18 years of surgical experience.
Her sub-specialty interest lies in Breast Surgery. She pursued her interest further in Oncoplastic/Reconstructive Breast Surgery & Breast Cancer management in Nottingham Breast Institute, United Kingdom for a year in 2011, under the Human Manpower Development Scholarship. She feels that the aesthetic outcome is just as important as the cancer treatment and she aimed to merge the two by training in this field. Dr Radhika is one of a handful of surgeons in Asia who is trained in this specialty.
Her scope of treatment of breast diseases ranges from the management of benign breast disorders such as breast cysts, lumps, nipple discharge, lactation problems, screening, male breast disorders and breast cancer. Dr Radhika has published several peer-reviewed articles and chapters on cancer-related topics.
She was also the Clinical Lead in Surgery for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU/Imperial College of London in 2012. She is a visiting consultant to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, providing her expertise in Breast services to the general public.
With the rapid advancements in the field of surgery, Dr Radhika ensures that she keeps abreast with new developments so as to ensure that her patients receive the best and most updated mode of treatment. Dr Radhika’s personal mission is to be a surgeon who delivers excellent surgical service with purity of intent and compassion for her patients.
