Clinical Interests

Dr. Lo is a senior consultant medical oncologist with a special interest in breast, gynaecological and gastro-intestinal cancers.

Education and training

Dr. Lo obtained her medical degree at Sheffield Medical School, England. After working at The Royal Hallamshire Teaching Hospital for 3 years, she moved to London for the rest of her post-graduate training. Dr. Lo became a member of the Royal College of Physicians, London, in 1997. She performed her specialist training in oncology at the world famous cancer centre, The Royal Marsden Hospital, London, and obtained her certificate of completion of specialist training in medical oncology in 2006. As recognition of her service and her contribution to the field of Oncology, Dr Lo was awarded the higher honour of being a fellow of The Royal College of Physician, London in 2014.

Dr. Lo joined the National Cancer Centre Singapore as a consultant in 2008, and became a senior consultant in 2011. She is trained in the management of most solid tumours and has a special interest in breast cancer, gynaecological cancer and gastro-intestinal cancer. She is currently a visiting consultant at the National Cancer Centre Singapore.

Dr. Lo is a member of the American Society of Oncology and Singapore Society of Oncology. Dr Lo was formerly Chairman of the National Cancer Centre Singapore Chemotherapy Safety Control Committee, Committee member of the Singhealth medical safety committee and Committee member of the audit committee at the National Cancer Centre Singapore.

Dr. Lo has received multiple awards including the prestigious Sabah State Government Scholarship, (Malaysia), Medical Defence Union Elective Bursary, (UK) and the SingHealth Excellence Service Award, (Singapore).

Research and teaching

During her time at the Royal Marsden Hospital London and the National Cancer Centre Singapore, Dr. Lo was actively involved in clinical research and was the principal investigator of several Multinational Clinical Anti-Cancer Drug Trials. She has published her research in numerous high-impact international peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international meetings. Dr. Lo is actively involved in the teaching of medical students from Yong Loo Ling School of Medicine, Singapore, and Duke-NUS Graduate medical school, Singapore.
