Having practiced Medicine as a General Practitioner for more than 28 years, Dr Janice Khoo recognizes the individual needs of her patients. She has developed her skills not only in treating medical problems but also making her patients look and feel good and staying healthy and fabulous through using the latest advances in Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine.

She started her medical practice in the prime location of Singapore at Raffles City in 1986. Her diverse mix of patients included ambassadors, dignatories and politicians, reputed fashion designers and owners of famous Italian fashion houses, TV and movie stars, performers and musicians, professional athletes…such is the interesting mix of patients she has encountered through her career.

As her patients mellowed and matured over time, her philosophy of making them age gracefully and remain active in their lifestyles brought her to develop an interest in Aesthetic and Anti-Aging medicine.

Not only should each individual look good, they had to feel good too. Her mantra of practicing preventive medicine through the years has helped her achieve this in her patients that came to seek her professional advise.

An active sportswoman since the tender age of 9, she has achieved sporting accolades in Athletics, Squash and Golf. She represented Singapore in the Womens’ Golf Team in 2002 in Taiwan, Korea and Thailand. In 2004, she started long distance running, participated in 10km and 20km runs and also ran the full marathon in 2007.

Apart from her professional career, she had volunteered her time to community work since 1997. Putting her knowledge and experience in medicine and sports together, she developed a holistic golf training programme for Youth Golfers in Singapore. To date, more than 4000 Youths have benefitted from this Youth Golf training Programme, some of whom have gone on to represent Singapore in the SEA Games. (www.youthgolf.com.sg)

For her unstinting work and support to the community she was awarded the Sporting Singapore Inspirational Award in 2004.

On the creative side, Dr Janice Khoo spends her leisure time in music and photography. A shutter bug since obtaining her first SLR camera at age 13, she has developed a vast collection of pictures in travel and sports photography, travelling widely through Asia and Europe to heritage sites, festivals and major sports events.

Her passion and interest for community work has even brought her to sing “Quando Quando” in a duet with Dr Peter Lee in a concert organized by “The Music Man “ and cultural medallion winner Iskandar Ismail. Her children performed for ChildAid in 2005. Together with her family, they have cut 2 albums of popular songs for friends.

Community Work
Dr Janice Khoo has a strong passion for helping the needy and has been the driving force to various charity and voluntary work for the community in Singapore and overseas.

Wanting to instil the sense of volunteerism to her children, she encouraged her four daughters to participate in an overseas trip with Mercy Relief, where her children helped to re-build and re-furbish an orphanage in Medan for two weeks. Prior to their departure, her daughters performed at a private charity concert to raise funds for the replacement of bug-infested beds in the orphanage. Through the concert, a sum of $12,000 was raised. She and her husband Dr Peter Lee joined the group at the end of the two-week mission to provide health screening services to the orphans. Medical provisions for health supplements and treatment given to the orphans soon extended to the families and villagers who came to know of it.

Other medical mission trips they have covered include work for the Ministry of Health in Seychelles, rural hospitals in Indonesia and Myanmar.

In 2007, she raised $12,500 for the School Pocket Money Fund through sponsors who supported her first run in the full Standard Chartered Marathon.
Raising funds for the needy inspired her to finish the race in 4 hours 15 mins.
