Dr. Chung Qi-Yan graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours. During her undergraduate studies, she spent most of her time training at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, the Sir Charles Gardner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital.
Dr. Chung was well acknowledged for her work and great academic achievements by her university. She was awarded the John McGeachie Prize for being top in her head and neck anatomy class. In addition, she also received the Undergraduate Award of Merit from Pierre Fauchard Academy an international Honourary dental organisation, in recognition of her outstanding and dedicated service to the profession – in particular, her contribution to dental literature.
Dr. Chung went on to complete her electives at the National University Hospital dental centre in Singapore and the Sir Charles Gardner Hospital in Western Australia to explore her interests in the areas of oral surgery, orthodontics and oral medicine. She gained much clinical experience providing care for patients in both metropolitan- (Warwick Dental Clinics) clinics and rural government clinics (Bunbury Dental Clinics) in Western Australia
Dr. Chung enjoys working with all age groups, especially so after spending her time with the dental department at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and the aged care dental teams in Perth. Dr. Chung strongly believes in keeping up with the latest technology and techniques. Thus, she continues to participate in extensive professional education courses and seminars, consistently updating her knowledge to maintain her ability to provide high standards of care for her patients. She is now also an accredited Invisalign provider. Taking time to understand and communicate well with her patients, she is greatly devoted to helping her patients achieve both aesthetic and healthy smiles.
