Dr Tan Kuanyang is a graduate of the National University of Singapore. Top of his class in 2004, he had multiple placements on the Dean’s List throughout his years in medical school, as well as being the winner multiple academic prizes for being top of his class for various modules throughout the course of his medical school.
Dr Tan did his paediatric training primarily at the National University Hospital of Singapore, where his training taught him the skills of being able to marry the science of medicine with the art of patient care, taking pride in the patient leaving the clinic not just with the right diagnosis but with a clear understanding of their children’s illness and symptoms.
In addition, Dr Tan also underwent training attachments with the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto, Northwick Park Hospital in the UK, as well as the Kandang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Singapore.
Married with a lovely daughter, Dr Tan witnessed the struggles that his wife experienced breastfeeding and is a passionate advocate of assisting his patients in successfully attaining the skills and knowledge required to successfully breastfeed their children, being very happy to give advice both as father and as a doctor.
